Brand and design lead

Russell Fox is a graphic designer and art director based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). He is the lead graphic designer behind TAPNZ's brand and merchandise.

Russell works across many mediums and scales, including digital, print, product and the built environment. His work is kaupapa-led, centering thoughtful communication, human curiosity, expressions of culture and stories of place.

Russell began his professional practice in 2020, working with several locally and internationally renowned studios, including Isthmus group, Run Aotearoa and Nonfiction.

In 2024 Russell joined Guardians, a transdisciplinary collaborative studio led by Anzac Tasker, Amy tasker and Olivia Darby. As a part of the studio since its earliest days, Russell has been at the core of the company, working with high-profile companies including Mercury, The Crusaders, Te Whānau O Waipareira and the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute to demonstrate the value of design guardianship.

Russell's projects have been awarded at the New Zealand Best Design Awards, AGDA, NZILA, and NZIA.
